A new fight with
TfL on our hands

Once more Olympia residents find ourselves under fire from TfL.

Adding insult to the injury of withdrawing the regular weekday District line service, TfL are now proposing to deny access across the station footbridge as part of their plan to install ticket barriers.

This crossing is an established public right of way and whilst I'm sure residents would have no objection to automated barriers at the station, they must not prevent public access across the bridge.

TfL do not have a leg to stand on, and have effectively admitted they already acknowledge the public right of way by suggesting a hair-brained scheme to issue local people with electronic passes to cross the bridge.

RBK&C and LBH&F are both against the plans and have already collected evidence that the bridge has been in continuous use by the non travelling public for at least 20 years - all that is needed to establish it as a right of way. If you can add to this, please email your stories to both Mark Chetwynd and Chris Bainbridge at each of the councils.

Help prevent closure of
the Olympia footbridge:

To prove the bridge is a public right of way all that needs to be established is that it has been in uninterrupted use as such for 20 years. Please send any anecdotal evidence you have to support this to:

and
